mission statement

eco print solutions provides an environmental alternative to commercial printing.

eco print solutions is committed to ensuring that it's customer service record remains unblemished whilst at the same time as pursuing it's goal of being the UK's premier ecological printing company. The business aim over the next few years is to become totally self-sufficient which will enable our customers to have total faith in our products, technology and ecological accountability.

our philosophy

The idea of eco print solutions was born in 2000 when commercial vegetable inks became available. Soya and vegetable oils are used to create an oil base for the pigments conventionally held by mineral oils. The danger of inks that contain mineral oils is that of their biodegradability. Conventional inks contain a high level of solvent. If landfill is used to dispose of printed waste, then the contained solvents leach out into the water table. Also if mineral oil inks are incinerated they only add to greenhouse gases as the inks are a non sustainable resource.

We at eco print solutions think that any pollution is an unacceptable bi-product of industry, and that all industrial activity should be wholly sustainable. If any non sustainable product is incinerated, it only adds to the levels of carbon dioxide in our atmosphere. Grow and burn is an acceptable form of emission control and is ultimately and wholly sustainable. eco print solutions would like to see more in the way of sustainable fuel development, from all types of waste. Vegetable oils are a sustainable resource so if incinerated do not add extra carbon to the atmosphere.

Another major air polluter is the use of industrial alcohol (isopropanol) as a surfactant during the printers process. As a consequence of this process the alcohol ends up just evaporating into the atmosphere and reacts with oxygen producing low level ozone. Most petrochemical solvents produce a vapour of this kind, all of which react with oxygen when they evaporate.

eco print solutions does not use alcohol based surfactants. Our location has the benefit of a natural spring. The acidity and softness of the water is almost perfect for use in lithography without addition.

The owners and employees of eco print solutions are fully conversant with the ethics of sustainability and seek to enhance their abilities in this area and improve everyday. eco print solutions are testing bio diesel vehicles as part of their commitment to our environment
