Paper as a product has provoked many environmentalists to debate. The recycling topic still rages but we at eco print solutions think we understand the numbers of this argument. Basically, collecting paper waste as a fibre to remake more paper is not practical in a number of ways. Initially, it is de-inked, the waste paper then has to be broken down by chemical processes. Paper only has strength if its fibres are long. The recycling of paper waste shortens the fibres therefore weakens the remade paper. We at eco print solutions believe that the collection of waste paper should be used as a fuel to drive industry, whether it be a paper mill or electricity generating plant, as long as the original paper was made from a sustainable source then this type of waste management is far more sensible.
The pulp and paper producers we use are at the forefront of global environmental issues and have total commitment for the protection of the environment and global well being. Timber used in the production of pulp is regarded as a crop and managed by replanting programmes. These programs exceed the quantity of felled trees by up to one third. The longevity of the supply of raw material is paramount and forest farmers ensure that it is managed in a manner that preserves the natural habitat.
Environmental care is not just about deforestation, other factors are of equal importance. These include abuse of fossil fuels, pollution of the atmosphere and waters, reforestation, the over-use of landfill and the recovery of recyclable materials.
Paper bleaching has been a serious environmental problem for many years and eco print solutions only use oxygen bleached materials. TCF or totally chlorine free papers are the only acceptable paper that eco print solutions will recommend. Only paper mills with impeccable environmental standards are acceptable suppliers of eco print solutions.
eco print solutions would also like to see an increase of the manufacture of paper using alternative fibre crops such as hemp and flax as these crops produce up to four times the amount of pulp per acre than trees.
eco print solutions will ensure that any paper we supply will be manufactured to the highest environmental standard.
Our sustainably produced papers are available in all types of finishes (matt, art, silk and bond).
